I was prompted to call my friend Carol yesterday while listening to the 80s station on XM satellite radio. They were playing "Every Rose Has Its Thorns" and I realized it may very well be the worst song ever written! I knew Carol would laugh right along with me! Yesterday also happened to be the anniversary of MTV...August 1, 1981...of course that was when MTV was more than just crap television! Another MTV tidbit - I was reading the wedding announcements in the New York Times not too long ago (yes, it's true...I read the wedding announcements in the Times every Sunday...no sudoku or crossword puzzles for me, thank you very much!) and there was Alan Hunter's wedding story...the first MTV VJ had married some woman in Birmingham, Alabama. And the woman was too young to have even watched Alan on MTV...plus the fact that her parents didn't have cable (some of these wedding stories get very in-depth!)
This blogging thing could be fun. I can post random thoughts about anything at any time!

Hey! Great to hear from you. Let me be the first responder to your blog! I can't believe that summer is almost over (not for most people, but I go back to school next Wed). I had a grand list of things I was going to accomplish like clean all the closets and basement and have a garage sale. HA! I still haven't cleaned off my desk.
I had a horrible realization the other day that I missed Kyle's birthday. I'm so sorry! I will get something off to him soon. Just stetches out the celebration! I hope he had a great time.
I went to the lake July 6-20 where I spent my entire vacation cooking and cleaning for tons of relatives. I didn't feel like I had a real vacation. The day after we got home, I went to Manhattan and checked into a hotel for four days for a journalism teacher's camp - it was GREAT! I ate out every meal, I had maid service - and I learned some really cool tricks with photoshop and indesign. It was really worth it.
Now I'm spending four days at enrollment trying to sell yearbooks. I'll have one day off next week and then have to report. It stinks. But I've been very lucky to have the time that I did this summer.
Hope all is well with you. Say hi to Dave and Kyle.
Love, Heather
